Absent further notice, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia will continue operations in the usual course notwithstanding any shutdown of the federal government caused by the failure to enact an annual appropriation act or a continuing resolution. This applies to all aspects of court operations, including docketing new cases, receipt of documents for filing, resolving motions, conducting trials, and deciding cases. Cases currently calendared for trial or hearing in October will proceed as scheduled. Parties remain obligated to comply with the filing requirements of applicable law, including the Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and this Court’s Local Rules.
